Hops are now on tap year-round at The Farmers’ Museum. Discover the area’s rich hops history, why Cooperstown used to be nicknamed Hop City and the secrets to creating an amazing craft brew.

With ongoing special events, tastings, demonstrations, tours and more, the museum is sure to be hoppin’ no matter when you visit.
Hoppy Trails Tour
Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 11:00 a.m. (June through September)

Hoppy Trails is a brief history and discussion of beer, brewing, and hops, followed by a tour of The Farmers’ Museum’s hop yard and hop house.  Learn how beer is made, what goes into it, and a bit about the life of hop farmers and hop pickers during the days when hops were the king crop of Otsego County. Included with regular museum admission. Tour starts in Bump Tavern in our Historic Village.
