Executive Assistant for Administration and Development • Full-time
Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum are seeking a full-time Executive Assistant for Administration and Development, reporting to the President and CEO. This position serves the critical role of assisting coordination of all Board-related activities, including all meetings and events. This highly confidential position reports to and works closely with the President/CEO and directly with the senior management team to ensure that Board materials are organized, formatted, compiled and distributed in a timely manner. The Executive Assistant must have excellent communication skills and will communicate with Board members to facilitate the smooth execution of these meetings and events. The Executive Assistant maintains the President’s schedule and assists with myriad daily administrative activities such as answering and returning phone calls, making travel arrangements, drafting and proofreading general correspondence, and other duties as assigned.
The Executive Assistant also works closely with the Development Department and provides support by drafting and proofing communications such as solicitations and acknowledgements, entering gift data into a database, assisting with general membership mailings and correspondence, general proofreading, assisting at events when needed, and performing other clerical duties.
Qualifications include strong organizational skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure while juggling multiple tasks and projects; outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including writing and proofreading; flexibility in working with various departments and teams when needed; and of great importance is the ability to set and maintain a positive and professional tone for the President’s Office and work well with others at all times. A minimum of five years of high-level Administrative Assistant experience with a college degree is desired.

Marketing and Communications Associate
Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum seek to fill the position of Marketing and Communications Associate. This position will oversee the museums’ social media platforms and assist with other vital communications functions. Ideal applicants will have a passion for art and history and have experience creating exciting content for public consumption. They are an excellent writer and capable editor with a knack for details. They have an eye for design and big picture thinking while simultaneously diving deep into the nuts and bolts of social media and web design. When needed they are analytical, and data driven but can pivot to thinking creatively about unique donor or visitor-centric communications. They are looking to grow professionally and make lasting connections throughout the regional tourism and museum industries. A Bachelor’s degree with marketing experience is preferred. Museum Teacher • Seasonal, Part-time

Fenimore Art Museum – Special Collections Librarian
Fenimore Art Museums is seeking a Special Collections Librarian at the Research Library to oversee Collections Management; Archival Processing and Cataloging; Reference and Public Services; Grants, and Special Projects. This position is responsible for preparing semi-annual Board reports on Library activities, managing the library budget and managing Library staff, interns and volunteers. Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum are seeking Café Attendants for the Fenimore Café and Crossroads Café. Café attendants prepare and serve all food and beverages to visitors of the museums. Cooking and/or food prep experience is preferred but we are willing to train enthusiastic individuals. Serv-Safe is a plus, as is cashier or POS experience. Successful candidates will have a professional appearance and display strong customer service skills; always putting the customer first. Visitor Services Associate
Part-Time, Seasonal (April-December)
Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum seek friendly individuals to fill part-time, seasonal positions during the museum season (April – December). You will assist visitors in the museum stores and at admission kiosks. Successful applicants will work well as a team; deliver exemplary customer service; have previous sales experience; knowledge of daily retail shop operations and must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays. Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum are seeking a full time Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will be trained to work in our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable areas and will learn to process the weekly check run; manage vendor files; communicate with vendors and staff; maintain the fixed assets ledger; prepare 1099s; handle credit applications; process cash receipts; billing invoices; and prepare quarterly sales taxes, and daily bank deposits. The successful candidate will be able to thrive in a busy environment; be highly organized and efficient; be a team player; communicate clearly and professionally and have earned a minimum of an Associate’s degree in accounting or business administration. Experience with Abila Accounting software and experience with not-for-profit fund accounting is preferred. This salaried position offers a competitive salary and generous benefits package. Applicants must have a clean driving license, be able to walk considerable distances in all weather conditions and have open availability including weekends and holidays. The workday includes using computer based monitoring systems, walking extensive museum grounds, completing incident reports and troubleshooting for potential hazards.
