This is an introductory class geared toward people who are interested in beginning to learn about the art of blacksmithing. Participants will learn how to build a fire in the forge, heat metal, twist, cut, and bend while using the traditional tools and methods of a blacksmith. Each participant will build and take home a uniquely hand-crafted letter opener. This class is for participants 14 and older.

Location: Field Blacksmith Shop

Date: November 10, 10 AM-3 PM

Class Fee: Members $90, including lunch. Non-members $100, including lunch. All materials included.

Your workshop includes a great boxed lunch, and you may choose from the following options:

  • Turkey or Ham Sandwich

  • Chicken, Ham or Hummus Wrap

  • Salad with or without Chicken, avocado optional.

All lunches come with a cookie, bottle of water and a bag of chips.

Please wear natural-fiber only clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty (wool, cotton, leather, but NO synthetics) with full-length sleeves and legs. No open-toed shoes.
