Third Shift Security/Safety Officer

Are you known as the safety person? Do you enjoy being surrounded by history and art? Perhaps you are a night owl. Consider becoming a part of our Security/Safety team at The Farmers’ Museum and Fenimore Art Museum. The museums are currently seeking full and part-time security/safety officers for second  and third shifts. Your workday would include using computer-based monitoring systems, walking extensive museum grounds, completing incident reports, and trouble-shooting for potential hazards.

Cafe Attendants

Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown have immediate openings for seasonal Cafe Attendants for the Fenimore Cafe and Crossroads Cafe. Cafe Attendants prepare and serve all food and beverages to visitors of the museums. Cooking and/or food prep experience is preferred but we are willing to train enthusiastic individuals. Serv-Safe is a plus as is cashier or POS experience. This position also comes with potential for advancement. Successful candidates will have a professional appearance and display strong customer service skills; always putting the customer first.

Accounts Payable Accountant

Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum are accepting applications for an Accounts Payable Accountant. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits. Qualifications include an Associate’s degree in accounting or business with a concentration in accounting; 2+ years of accounts payable experience; a reliable, organized professional with strong work ethic and time management skills; proficiency in Excel, Word and 10-key touch, with MIP Sage experience a plus.

Museum Teachers and Interpreters

Seasonal Part Time

The Farmers’ Museum are accepting applications for seasonal Museum Teachers and Interpreters for the 2016 season. Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills; be engaging speakers; have a passion for history and learning; and be able to learn and demonstrate historic crafts to the public. Experience leading tours or teaching is preferred. This position is part-time, approximately 30 hours per week during the season.
