The Farmers’ Museum is seeking a qualified individual to oversee stewardship of its photography collections. This member of the middle management team will ensure the safety, integrity, condition, proper documentation and handling of all objects within the photography collection. The successful candidate will be energetic, positive, self-motivated, team-minded and a problem-solver. Master’s Degree required. Workshop: Soap Making

Discover the simple method of cold-process soapmaking from scratch!
Learn how to (safely) combine lye with a variety of fixed oils ranging from olive oil to lard. We will be exploring the use of additives and their properties, along with carrier oils, fragrance oils, essential oils, scents, nutrients, exfoliants, and colorants to create just the right bar of soap for you. You will make your own 1 lb. batch of soap to take home – enough for 5 large bars!

Museum Teacher

The Farmers’ Museum and Fenimore Art Museum seek retired school teachers, professionals, or those with an enthusiasm for sharing 19th Century history with kids of all ages. The position is seasonal (March – June/September-November) with minimal and varied hours, but provides many opportunities for learning trades and crafts from the past. Training will be provided.  Qualified candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills and be comfortable speaking in a one-on-one or group setting.
