Box and Cox Trunk Shows
Sundays, June 3 - September 9 • 12:00 on the Tavern Green

The Farmers’ Museum stages a trunk show featuring the popular comedy Box and Cox, written in England by John Maddison Morton in 1847.  The New York Times called it “the best farce of the nineteenth century.”  The play features some of the best performers in the region and is included with museum admission!

Grow Patch Opening Party

The Kids’ GROW PATCH will officially be open all day on Saturday, and a Grand Opening Celebration Party will be held on Saturday, May 5 from 1:30–2:30 p.m. Stories, creative activities, and farm and garden themed play time will be sprouting in THE PATCH! Join us for a special treat to celebrate! 

Grow Patch includes a mini farmers' market for kids, a "weave a garden" loom, and other exciting activities! 

Entry to the party is included with regular museum admission.

Located throughout the Museum, our Explorer Stations include the following do-it-yourself activities: Bean Babies, Sheep to Mitten, Kernel to Kitchen, Kool-Aid Yarn Dying, Bartering, Travel of the Mid-19th Century, Making 19th Century Games, and Making Rag Rugs. Homeschool Day

Join us on Friday, June 22, 2018, for Homeschool Day in Cooperstown!  The Farmers' Museum and Fenimore Art Museum offer a terrific day of hands-on learning for homeschoolers and their families. It's a great opportunity to participate in special programming, explore our museums, learn, laugh, and meet other homeschoolers!

Administrative Assistant Collections Department

Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant for the Collections Department. Under the direction of the Director of Museum and Library Collections, the Collections Administrative Assistant will complete duties to ensure the facilitation, communication, proper documentation and completion of tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the department. The Administrative Assistant practices and exhibits exemplary conduct and communication skills within and between departments.
