Soothe chapped lips with Dr. Thrall's Lip Salve
Exculsively made at The Farmers' Museum, the salve contains olive oil, beeswax, sugar and rose oil.
Packaged in a reusable tin with a handprinted label.
This lip salve is prepared from a recipe dating back to 1820's England. The base for the salve was used as a simple dressing for burns. The salve, which is slightly sweetened, is available in either lavender or rose scent.
The Celtic knot label was recreated from a design found in the cargo of a ship that sunk in the 1850’s. The labels are individually block printed in the museum’s printing office on an 1860’s treadle press.
