Beginning Blacksmithing I

This two-day course will introduce students to the basics of how to start and manage a coal forge fire, use basic tools and equipment, and how to perform simple metal working techniques.  Students will make a variety of hooks on Saturday and on Sunday they will forge three Blacksmithing hearth tools, including a coal rake, a shovel, and a poker.  No previous experience is necessary.

Fee: $150, includes materials and information packet.
