Memorial Day Weekend
May 29, 2010 | May 30, 2010
10 am - 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am -5 pm on Sunday
The Farmers' Museum

Visit The Farmers’ Museum for its Memorial Day Weekend event on Saturday, May 29 from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday, May 30, from 10 am to 5 pm. The event brings together the popular Heritage Plant Sale, the season opening of the Children's Barnyard, and the continuation of the exhibition, Wild Times!  A New York Animal Road Trip. Across the street at the Fenimore Art Museum, you can also enjoy the opening of the major exhibition John Singer Sargent: Portraits in Praise of Women.

On both days, there will be plenty of animals to see at the Farm.  The Children's Barnyard offers visitors the chance to see their favorite farm animals up close.  See the baby lambs or take a wagon ride.  And don't forget the hand-carved animals on the Empire State Carousel!

The annual Heritage Plant Sale will be held on both Saturday and Sunday. Visitors will be able to purchase heritage plants and seeds, including plants and cuttings from The Farmers’ Museum’s Botanical Specimen Garden. Medicinal herbs, ornamental and dye plants, heirloom-variety vegetable seeds, and other garden accessories will also be on sale.

Inspired by the Empire State Carousel at The Farmers' Museum, Wild Times!  A New York Animal Road Trip showcases some of the animals on the Carousel, and explores their natural history, mythology, social history, art history and use in pop culture.
Join fictional characters Lulu and Max as they travel across the state in search of the animals that make New York their home.  Learn amazing facts about each throughout their journey.
