Building on the success of the past two years, The Farmers’ Museum and Otsego 2000 have partnered together again to sponsor the Food and Farm Film Series to educate and encourage the public and farmers of all ages and experience.

March 7^th: Food Stamped:  This informative and humorous documentary film follows a couple as they attempt to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet on a food stamp budget. Through their adventures they consult with members of U.S. Congress, food justice organizations, nutrition experts, and people living on food stamps to take a deep look at America’s broken food system.

A guest speaker will follow the film.  The film will be screened in the Fenimore Art Museum auditorium, starting at 7:00 P.M.; doors open at 6:30 P.M.  The series will feature:

April 4^th: American Meat: Featuring farmers across the U.S., this documentary surveys the current state of the American meat industry. It explains how America arrived at our current industrial system, and shows you the feedlots and confinement houses, not through hidden cameras but through the eyes of the farmers who live and work there. From there, it introduces the current revolution developing in animal husbandry, led by the charismatic and passionate Joel Salatin.
