The Pickup Truck: America’s Driving Force
May 25 - October 31, 2013

Suzan Friedlander, Guest Curator

The pickup truck is an icon of respected American values and virtues: it is honest, hard working, durable, and reliable. Follow the route of the pickup truck from its beginnings when demand for pickup trucks actually preceded their supply. Passenger vehicles were modified by dealers and buyers to make cargo wagons, replacing farm and delivery wagons. Take a close look at seven different pickups dating from 1907 to 1977, including two Model T Fords from the 1920s.
