Art and Opera

Explore the world of Art and Opera with a classroom visit from The Glimmerglass Festival and The Fenimore Art Museum!

In this exciting opportunity students who participate in an outreach visit from The Glimmerglass Festival and The Fenimore Art Museum’s program: Art and Opera will have the chance to participate in a juriedshow at The Fenimore Art Museum which will be on display through the summer of 2011!

Responding to Hopper Contest:

Students who so choose may enter their written works, or visual works into a student competition.  There will be two divisions: middle and high school. Students may submit 1 entry per activity.
First and second place winners will have their works placed on display at The Fenimore Art Museum for the summer season beginning Memorial Day weekend!
Deadline for submission is April 18
All entries will be invited to the exhibition’s opening and awards ceremony at The Fenimore Art Museum on Memorial Day weekend free of charge.

• 1st Place winners receive: Two tickets to The Glimmerglass Festival and a backstage tour;  a family membership to The New York State Historical association; work published in the Daily Star  
• 2nd Place winners will receive: Two tickets to The Glimmerglass Festival
• Honorable mentions will be awarded in each category.
