Programs| Lectures

From lunchtime tours to evening book signings, lectures at The Farmers' Museum cover many topics in history and culture and introduce visitors to provocative speakers from throughout the world.

Food for Thought programs are a lunch and lecture series which offer visitors a more in depth understanding of our exhibits and programs.  All programs begin at noon on Wednesdays and include lunch. $15 members/$20 non-members. Registration is required at least three days in advance. Cancellations without advanced warning will be charged. Please call (607) 547-1461 to reserve. 

Food for Thought: Sneak Peek - Grand Opening of the Jonas More House | May 21 2008 | 12:00pm-2:00pm

Be one of the first to see the completed interpretation of the Jonas More House before its official opening Memorial Day weekend. Join Farmers’ Museum staff for a discussion of the Jonas More House: past, present, and future.

Enjoy an in depth discussion of the importance that hops have played in the history of New York State while sampling a New York made beer.

Join Gwen Miner, Supervisor of Domestic Arts, for a discussion of the most important holidays of the nineteenth-century. Learn about how Americans celebrated these holidays including traditional activities and foods.
