Our Fabulous Farm Animals
June 29–30, from 10 am–5 pm
On Saturday and Sunday, June 29-30, step back in time at The Farmers’ Museum to appreciate the farm animals that shaped farming in Central New York. You can get up close to our horse, oxen, sheep, chickens, and all kinds of baby animals. During Fabulous Farm Animals Weekend, admire these animals in action and the people who work with them.
Oxen and horses will show their power with demonstrations of cultivating and driving, lending a hand as we harvest our hay field. Meet our new horse Chet (short for Winchester) and our oxen-in-training, Red and Rusty. Get up close with our sheep and learn about the role of sheep on the farm. Delight in remarkable varieties of chickens. Learn more about animal nutrition from Mackenzie Fitzpatrick of Blue Seal Feeds (Saturday).
Lots of hands-on activities let you step back in time to learn about our animals and their role on the farm. Try felting hands-on to create crafts out of wool and other fibers: it’s easy to get started! Experience agriculture at the animal's pace during Fabulous Farm Animals Weekend at The Farmers' Museum.
All Step Back in Time Weekends are held at the museum from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Entry is included in the museum admission: Adults and juniors (13-64): $12.00; seniors (65+): $10.50; youth (7-12): $6.00; children (6 and under): Free.
